Dancem
Your movement becomes music
Role: Design and development · 2026
Live on
Overview
Dance in front of your camera. In-browser pose tracking reads 33 joints 30 times a second to measure your tempo, generates an original track for your dance, and lays the audio over your video at sample accuracy. No choreography required — 8 genres, the tempo is yours.
Product scope
No choreography
Just move in front of the camera. There is no routine to learn and nothing to install.
In-browser pose tracking
33 body joints, read 30 times a second, without the video leaving the browser.
Tempo from your body
Your movement sets the tempo the track is generated around.
Eight genres
The same dance, rendered as a track in any of eight musical genres.
Sample-accurate mixdown
The generated audio is laid over your video at sample accuracy, so it stays locked to the movement.
The problem I owned
Turning a live dance into music means the beat has to come from the body rather than a click track — and the finished audio has to stay locked to the video it was generated from.
What I built
- Ran pose tracking in the browser: 33 joints, sampled 30 times a second.
- Turned that motion into a tempo estimate that drives generation.
- Generated an original track for the dance, in one of eight genres.
- Laid the generated audio over the recorded video at sample accuracy.
Key takeaway
With a human body as the input, generating audio is the easy half — agreeing on the beat and holding sync all the way to the exported file is the part that decides whether it feels real.
